Snow Star Credit Union has been supporting the education and, more recently, healthcare communities for over 42 years, which sets us apart from the rest of the banks.

This support includes awards, sponsorships, partnerships and grants to the community and various organisations. We are proud to continue doing so through the Snow Star Credit Union Community Fund.

Introduced at our 2019 Annual General Meeting, the Snow Star Credit Union Community Fund will amalgamate our many social responsibility activities into one 'fund' so that we can continue to support more of the 'people who care'.

One of these activities is our annual Teaching Initiatives Program, which has commenced for 2020. The program supports innovative teaching ideas and programs at the grassroots of education. In 2019, grants were awarded for initiatives including a frog pond rejuvenation, robotics and a laundry program to help students at a specialist school further develop their academic, social and living skills.

Our partnership with State Schools’ Relief is another example of how the Snow Star Credit Union Community Fund will continue to support the community. State Schools’ Relief supports disadvantaged children by providing them with essential items such as school clothing, footwear and educational resources.

Key pillars included in the Snow Star Credit Union Community Fund:

• Awards - Your belief in helping others is what inspires us. That’s why we fund a range of awards at the grassroots level of healthcare and education.
• Partners & Sponsorships - We sponsor initiatives that empower our educators and healthcare workers, and collaborate with organisations that make a positive difference.
• Grants & Donations - From our very own Teaching Initiatives Program that I mentioned above, to charities that help ensure all children receive access to early childhood education, we are here to help.

In our eyes, it’s work like this that helps us build a healthy local community spirit.
