Stress less this July
Many of us can relate to feeling stressed at some point in our personal lives or at work. Stress can impact the mental and physical health of all of us, and Stress Down Day is about creating awareness for workplaces and individuals to implement simple activities that can reduce stress.
What can you do?
Below are some ideas to find a way for yourself or a friend to Stress Down on 24 July and beyond.
- Be active - aim for 30 minutes of exercise each day.
- Open up to others - this may encourage others to open up to you too.
- Healthy eating - a healthy diet can lower anxiety.
- Get enough sleep - it’s proven that a lack of sleep can increase stress levels.
If you’re looking to do even more than that, you could start fundraising or donate to someone else. Funds raised will help increase the number of volunteers helping those in need. Check out Stress Down Day for more information.
What we’re doing
As a bank founded on care and compassion, ensuring that workplace stress is reduced is extremely important to us.
One of the most exciting things that we’re doing in this space is participating in The Global Challenge - a fun, team-based program designed to help increase healthiness and happiness.
The optional, team-based program runs for 12 months and provides our staff with the tools and support to assist with mindfulness and psychological wellbeing. If this is something that you think could be beneficial to your workplace, you can find out more by visiting The Global Challenge.
