Registered
teachers, childhood and early childhood teachers in Victoria must undertake at least 20 hours of professional development (PD) each year to renew teacher registration status. (Note - teachers who are in a five year registration renewal cycle must undertake at least 100 hours of professional development over the five year period.)
Teacher Learning Network
Our partner, the Teacher Learning Network (TLN), provides a range of professional learning opportunities for teachers. Programs are open to all teachers in early childhood and school settings, including CRTs. The TLN delivers high quality professional learning in the areas of:

- Classroom Practice
- Early Childhood
- ICT

MoneySmart Teaching Packages
Developed by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) MoneySmart Teaching provides professional and personal learning programs, as well as resources for teaching and learning.
The MoneySmart Teaching packages are being developed to support schools with the implementation of the Australian Curriculum, using consumer and financial literacy as a context for teaching and learning within English, Mathematics and Science.
Students will develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and behaviours to organise their personal finances, behave as responsible consumers, generous donors, wise investors and creative entrepreneurs.
New to Teaching?
If you are a new teacher, you can complete the 'Introduction to consumer and financial literacy education' online course at www.consumer.vic.gov.au.
Consumer Affairs Victoria provides a range of fun and interesting resources that assist teachers to educate students on consumer issues.

Department of Education & Training
The DE&T has a range of resources available to support teachers in the classroom and allow them to apply best practice to their teaching. These resources include information on reports, assessment, curriculum plans, digital spaces, literacy and numeracy.
